Hadley and Mommy took a day trip to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. What an awesome place! First of all, its free! No complaints there! Secondly, it is clean, well maintained, and fun! They are always adding new exhibits like a butterfly room and story times. We even got the opportunity to touch a crab, a snake, a rabbit, and a turtle at the story time. Although Hadley did not take that opportunity- she's a little chicken when it comes to new animals. They have areas representing all the NC habitats (marshlands, oceans, etc...) and dinosaurs exhibits, insects, fish, and more.

Off to School!!

Hadley started preschool about 2 weeks ago. She is going to a church preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-1. On Tuesdays, her nanny takes her and picks her up and on Thursdays, David takes her and I pick her up. It works out perfectly. I think David and I anticipated this transition having a few bumps, as Hadley can be shy and quiet and often tells us, "Can I just stay at home?" But actually, it went really smoothly! She loves her teacher and always has stories to tell when she comes home. She especially loves telling me if someone in the class disobeyed the teacher!! She's a tattle tale! The other interesting thing she has started now is instructing everyone like she is a teacher. She gave me some paper last night and said, "Now class, draw a big circle. Now second, draw some ears. Now second, draw a nose. Now next draw a mouth. Now second of all, draw some girl hair. Good job, class!" It's too funny!!

THE BIG 3-0!

My husband turned 30 on August the 5th! We celebrated and teased and he took it all in stride! We have amazing families and are so thankful for each of them. When we all get together its 20+ people! It is so strange that I have know David since he was 19 years old! Ah! Are we old now? I feel old and I'm not even the one that turned 30!


David's walker...thanks to Justine he can continue living an active life style with the help of his walker (horn included) despite his old age.

Hadley decided that she wanted to splash in a rain puddle wearing her rain boots...and this so happened to be after ballet while she was still wearing her leotard (too bad her tutu was off!). Anyways, I decided this was too cute and caught some quick pics. For anyone who knows Hadley well, they can guess her reaction to actually getting wet was all good...until the rain splashed up into the tops of her boots and soaked her feet...then we were finished and went into the house to dry her feet with a towel! Such a girl!

So, our family of three went to Charleston for 2 days before heading down to Kiawah Island with David's side of the family (11 more people)! Anyways, in Charleston we stayed at a nice hotel near the water and enjoyed vegging in the beautiful pool! We went to the aquarium, as well as a water park on St. John's Island. We had a great time in Charleston! Kiawah pics coming soon! I have a wiggly three yr old who wants me to play and not blog!

Not much new round here!

Found an adorable frog on our porch! Hadley wanted to hold him so badly and when she finally did, he let out a gush of urine right on her arm! Ah! I had no clue that much could come out of a little frog- kinda like a kid!

On our way to FL to visit family friends! Hadley loved the airplane ride, especially when the "waitress lady" came by and she could "order" apple juice and peanuts!

So, Hadley is three...which means I have had three tried at making a decent birthday cake. Now, I might say some were decent looking, but horrible tasting (yeah, cant sub butter for shortening), while others where okay tasting, but lacked a certain quality in their appearance. So, thanks to my friend Julie, I am taking a cake class where we learn to make and decorate a cake! And I mean from start to finish and our final is a wedding cake (basic one) so Ill keep you posted. Cross your fingers that I can do a great cake for her 4th birthday (although, that is a long long time from now thank goodness!!)

Hadley's new interests...

Hadley received the gift of ballet and tap lessons from her Grema and Grumps (my parents) for her 3rd birthday. She is dancing all around the house!















She also received all sorts of gardening supplies! Her Daddy helped her plant and water some seeds....and he posed her like a thug/gangster somehow! Ha!
